New art stuff
Yesterday I bought a new printer/scanner - the Canon PIXMA MP620 - and I gotta say, it is SWEEEEEET. I need to rescan whatever papers I can track down, because this does powerfully excellent scans! XD
Two days ago I went to Levers, a city's only art shop, and bought new pens, as well as a set of 24 Faber-Castell markers for $89.85. I grant you, they did stock Copics...but they were almost $9 each and I am not made of money. -_-0
Kalali Amethist (possibly to be renamed 'Amethyst Trail') - that comic no one's too keen on :P
So, I did that concept art, and used my new markers to colour them. You can easily tell I have not used markers since primary school, and even then, it was only to outline pencil coloured pictures. The point is, I'm new to this, so please show me your divine mercy!
I won't even touch future Kyou Kara Maou arts till I am comfortable with markers, and maybe I will wait till I own some damn copics.

Stuck up, mentally distraught, teenaged half-elf, bursting with unearnt self-superiority. Save for the half-elf part, she's largely based on yours truly ^_- The world the characters inhabit will be a modern fantasy world, so Kalali will often be caught reading fashion magazines, following trends and running up debt on pretty, shiny things - just like a real teenaged girl!
Kalali's lineage is: human father, elf mother - elf mother was one half wood elf, and one half dark elf, Kalali's tanned skin and purple hair are thanks to her dark elf genes
This Kalali is very different to 'Kawaii Amethist', in that Kawaii was more refined and very skilled with her magic. While she was unstable and egotistical, she was at least a little mature. Kalali, however, acts more like a 16 year old, than someone in their 20s, and has a long way to go before anyone sensible would consider her mature. I think I am going to have a lot more fun with her.

I drew him first, and love his hair! Of Kalali and Temis, his design is closest to the original, designed back when I was 17. Valic's a true gentleman, always with the best of intentions and takes his daily horrors in stride. The only thing to really piss him off is to be dubbed a bat by Kalali. It isn't so much the insult, as the fact that he knows that she knows the 'bat' stererotype is untrue.

The old Temis had blue skin, and I liked it, so I kept it. She was chibi then, and chibi now, but I changed the outfit drastically. Before, it was very girly and cutesy, but now it is more of a uniform. This is because the modern Fairy Court, at least in her district, is driven by formal education for children and formal administrative duties by adults - lots of magical paperwork! I look forward to the Fairy Court, where we meet her father, a cranky and very bishie King, bigotted towards anything not Fairy-related. When reminded that he married a human, he loses momentum and changes the subject. Her mother, by the by, is no longer the standard Thumbelina, or named so. Temis' mum was accidentally made tiny by her wizard father's spell, which was intended for her mother, during a heated divorce argument.

Oh, his eventual primary source of blood will be a very attractive male ^_^ They won't be lovers, but it should prove to be fangirl fodder.
